Josh studied Organizational Leadership at Mid America Nazarene University, in Olathe KS. In addition to participating in S.I.F.E. (Enactus), Josh was an all conference wide receiver on the football team.  It was while in college (MNU) that Josh helped Tyler start the founding team of the 1-800-GOT-JUNK? franchise in Kansas City. From 2009 to present day, Josh has bought, launched and sold multiple businesses in 9 different states, scaled the Kansas City 1-800-GOT-JUNK? into the most successful location in the franchise ecosystem. In 2010 Josh and Tyler built a new leader in the moving industry (Easy Moves). In 2013 Josh and Tyler sold their local moving company to You Move Me (Franchisor), Josh & Tyler stayed on to pioneer the new brand as their very first franchisee. After 7 years Josh is now a part owner of the franchisor (in Vancouver, B.C) and serves on the board. In 2019 Josh & Tyler acquired MVP Electric (now MVP Heating, Cooling, Plumbing, Electric), partnering with founder Chip Gabbert. Their strategy is to develop technicians who deliver world class service to anyone with a heating, cooling, plumbing or electrical need. 

Josh is the acting CEO at Southwind. Under Josh’s leadership Southwind has been nominated as one of the best places to work  for the last 3 consecutive years (2018, 2019, 2020). Josh’s teams have won National “Franchise of the Year” 8 times. In 2018 Josh & Tyler were awarded O2E’s (Vancouver based organization with multiple International brands) “Can You Imagine” Award for their work developing entry level team members into Entrepreneur’s. Josh & Tylers companies have created over 2,000 jobs across the country.

Southwind sponsors Harvester’s campaigns and Project warmth campaigns with their one of their media partners (KCTV5) in Kansas City.

Away from the office, Josh is an active member of Kansas City’s YPO chapter. Josh enjoys traveling and spending time with his wife Stacy, two daughters and son at their home in Mission Hills, KS.

Tyler launched his career as a Software Engineer with Volterra in the San Francisco Bay Area. In 2007, Tyler moved to Kansas City to purchase the 1-800-GOT-JUNK? franchise. After several years of success and expansion, Tyler co-founded a moving company which eventually became the first You Move Me franchise.

More recently Tyler, Josh (CEO), and other partners bought out existing 1-800-GOT-JUNK? franchise locations in Omaha (2015), Des Moines (2016), Reno/Lake Tahoe (2017), Grand Rapids/Lansing (2017), Oklahoma City (2017), and Salt Lake City (2018). All 7 businesses have experienced explosive growth and success. This success culminated in 2015 by winning the “Franchise of the Year” award in Kansas City for both 1-800-GOT-JUNK and You Move Me, then repeating the honor by winning both awards again in 2016 and 2017.

In his spare time, Tyler enjoys spending time with his wife, Sara and two sons Will & Jackson.

From a very young age Aaron has been around winning teams. The impact of these teams and how they created success together has molded Aaron as a business leader. A state champion on his high school football team Aaron earned a scholarship to play football at the University of Minnesota. After a great career at University of Minnesota Aaron reached his ultimate dream of playing in the NFL. The formula for success has always been clear for Aaron, Effort and communication. Through the teachings that he has learned over the years from his Coaches and Mentors he has helped lead multiple businesses from mediocre to exceptional. His team first approach and unparalleled energy makes it an experience that will challenge employees to get out of their comfort zones and become the best that they can be. With a firm understanding that the greatest resource in a business is the People, Aaron’s main focus is to inspire and develop the staff daily. Through development and determination his teams will help 1-800-Got-Junk? become a household name known for employing the best service professionals in the industry. In his free time, Aaron enjoys traveling with his wife Heather and their two kids, Ellie and Henry.

Derek is the Director of Strategy and Analytics with Southwind Enterprises. In this role, Derek looks after/coordinates/manages/leads a team providing all aspects of daily operations, including forecasting, reconciliation and payroll functions.

A big believer in a team environment, Derek supports all aspects of growth and change.

Prior to starting at Southwind Enterprises business, Derek spent time as a Project Manager and a Sales Consultant.

Derek has more than 15 years of management experience in multiples levels of business.

In these roles, Derek was responsible for customer service, driving sales, sales training, project completion, and daily operations.

He helps Southwind Enterprises to analyze and generate data significate to advertising and staffing needs, as well as facilitating use of several software programs pertaining to the franchise.

After a successful career in management, Derek advises other people how to achieve the same success. Passionate about the success and profitability of business and its possibilities, he provides the commitment and drive to push new ideas forward.

Although she was born and raised in the Kansas City area, Christine has called other states home as well. With  12 years of experience in the accounting field, Christine has worked for various employers including The Johnson County District Attorney, The Johnson County Court System and the State of Alaska. Before coming to Southwind, Christine worked for the Anchorage Airport System, which boasts the 4th busiest cargo hub in the world and Lake Hood, the busiest seaplane base in the world. Homesick, Christine moved back to the Kansas City area and was lucky to find a home here at Southwind. In her spare time, Christine enjoys fire performing, spending time with family and friends as well as cheering on the Chiefs and Royals.

Andy comes to Southwind after 12 years of coaching college Women’s Basketball.  Prior to his coaching career he attended Pittsburg State University.  Andy graduated from Pittsburg State with a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology and a Master’s Degree in Teaching.  During his time at Pittsburg State he played football for the Gorillas.  Andy is a Kansas native and grew up in Overland Park and attended Shawnee Mission West High School.  

Andy is the General Manager for 1-800-GOT-JUNK in Kansas City.  He has a wealth of experience and knowledge in leading people and teaching best practices in culture and development.  

Andy and his wife AJ have a son Mason.  They currently reside in Lawrence, KS.

Chip is a Kansas City Area native and grew up in Raytown.  He started his electrical career more than 25 years ago in the service department of a large electrical contractor.  He and his wife, Amy, started MVP Electric, LLC in 2005 and built it through the good years and the recession, changing the focus from commercial service to residential service and adding heating and cooling in 2010 to diversify during the lean times.  He has his Master license in Electrical, Mechanical and Plumbing and continues to utilize new technology and improved standards in MVP to train the technicians.  His passion has always been to change the perception of service workers to be viewed as the highly skilled professionals that they are, to create the best company to work for and have the best paid techs in Kansas City.

In 2019, Southwind acquired MVP and Chip has remained a partner.  Becoming a part of Southwind has been such an adventure and Chip has truly enjoyed working with Tyler, Josh and Aaron as part of the leadership team and developing an improved MVP where the best is yet to come.

Chip’s personal passion is his family – his wife of 19 years, Amy, 2 teen-aged sons and 2 German Shorthaired Pointers.  Chip enjoys bird hunting, boating, watching his sons play baseball, wrestle and swim, and traveling.

LaDrew Is a Kansas native. He and his eleven siblings grew up in the Overland Park area. LaDrew graduated from Shawnee Mission North HS where he was a three sport athlete and earned 1st Team All-State honors in football and track.  After high school LaDrew continued his education at Hutchinson CC where he played football, and later transferred to Mid America Nazarene University where he would continue playing football and major in education. After graduation LaDrew pursed his masters in education and graduated with honors in 2010. LaDrew later enrolled in Leading Educators academy where he traveled around America studying poverty stricken communities in attempt to decrease achievement gaps between socioeconomic class groups in public schools. 

For the past nine years LaDrew has been a teacher and coach. Teaching and coaching became his passion. He taught in the Bonner Springs school district for seven years and during that time he accomplished his goal of becoming a Head Football Coach. After his success in Bonner he joined the staff at Olathe North to learn about the power of culture and tradition!

LaDrew left his education career to pursue a different coaching field with Southwind as a Business Coach. LaDrew plans to use the knowledge gained from the field of education along with his coaching experience to impact and empower the lives of those that he coaches. As a business coach LaDrew will work with the remote franchises of 1-800-GOT-JUNK? as well as the Kansas City market.

LaDrew loves his family! He married his soulmate Hannah on June 27, 2017. LaDrew has two sons, LaDrew Jr and Javion. In his spare time he enjoys training his sons, traveling with his wife, reading, and writing books.

Jeff Scott

Jeff was born in Houston, Texas and moved to Lenexa where he spent the majority of his childhood. He attended Shawnee Mission West High School where he was an All State three sport athlete.. He spent the next four years playing football and earning a Bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice at Washburn University in Topeka, KS. After graduating in 2006, he began a career in sales at The SCOOTER Store before getting into law enforcement in Olathe, KS. Realizing that his true passion was to help lead and develop people Jeff accepted management opportunity with Aramark Uniform Services in Kansas City. Prior to Southwind, Jeff enjoyed a career with Jet.com where he was a vital part in growing the business to a 3.3 billion dollar e-commerce giant. As the Director of People and Culture at Southwind, he has the opportunity to coach, mentor and lead the teams to continue to drive success in the business. Jeff currently resides in Basehor, KS with his wife Megan. When he isn’t at Southwind, he is spending time with his twin daughters Aubrey and Blair.

Angela is our Talent Acquisition Coordinator. (Recruiter). Her role is to recruit dynamic team members for our remote 1-800-GOT-JUNK? locations and to work directly with each franchise partner to develop outstanding teams! The moment she walked into the Kansas City branch of 1-800-GOT-JUNK? (Southwind), she knew she had found the perfect blend of heart and growth-minded, entrepreneurial energy.
A Missouri/Kansas native, Angela graduated from NWMSU with a Bachelor’s in Business Management and Marketing and from Baker University with a Master’s in Management. She spent the majority of her career working as a recruiter and coach with a desire to help people become improved versions of themselves. She has had the unique opportunity to motivate and lead individuals and groups in business as a recruiter and also as a personal trainer and fitness coach for over 16 years.
When she’s not helping to build our outstanding 1-800-GOT-JUNK? teams, Angela teaches meditation workshops and active, fun yoga classes. Her passion is most alive as a mom raising her three amazing children, Maddie, Jackson and Levi in Lenexa, KS.

Nathan Mize

Nathan grew up in Atchison, Kansas and was a 4th generation Jayhawk at the University of Kansas where he got his degree in Strategic Communications in the fall of 2018. A month later, Nathan joined the Southwind team as the part-time Social Media Manager before transitioning into a full-time Communications Manager position just six months later. His background, passion, and expertise in the technology and marketing world has helped grow the online brand and presence of You Move Me, 1-800-GOT-JUNK?, and MVP in Kansas City. Nathan also oversees all 1-800-GOT-JUNK social platforms currently under the Southwind name.

In addition to his knowledge on social media marketing, Nathan excels at video editing and production. While still in college, Nathan created his own drone company, Drone Lawrence. What started out as a small platform for him to share short videos he captured with his drone, quickly turned into the #1 aerial videography company in the Lawrence, Kansas area. Today, Nathan and his business partner provide drone photography and videos for over 30 businesses, restaurants and events in Lawrence, Topeka, and Kansas City.

Nathan moved from Lawrence to the Kansas City area in July of 2019 and continues to do what he loves each and every day – create.

As the Marketing Manager for Southwind, Cameron’s role is to ensure that we are running effective marketing campaigns from year to year and driving growth to each business.

Cameron was born and raised in the Lake of the Ozarks area before moving to Springfield, Missouri for college. There, she graduated from Missouri State University with a double major in Marketing and Business in 2013, ultimately launching her career in the advertising industry at a local agency. In November of 2018, Cameron was fortunate enough to begin working with Josh and Tyler on all of Southwind’s accounts. After a year and a half, the opportunity to work exclusively as part of the Southwind organization transpired and she went all in. Being able to work alongside incredible people in an environment that strives on teamwork, drive, and vision makes every day something special.

When she’s not “making it rain”, you can find Cameron at a live music venue or exploring the new city she calls home.

Jason grew up in Salt Lake City, UT. From a very young age he began building the skills needed to speak comfortably with new people. He sold fruit to neighbors door to door, shoveled walks, and mowed lawns to earn money for new sports equipment. He graduated from Brighton High School and moved away to college. Years later he decided to move East to Kansas City to follow a job opportunity. After 4 years in the industry he met Josh Herron Owner of You Move Me and was offered the position of Operations Manager. Together with his team he has seen consistent growth year over year. Won Franchise of the year 4 times. Was the recipient of the “Can You Imagine Award”, But most of all he has developed his skills as a leader so he could pass that knowledge down to his peers. Outside of work he spends the majority of his time with his family. His wife Jen, daughter Malayah, and son Jaxon.

Matt grew up in the foothills Northern California and at the young age of 10 years old was selling t-shirts at the Auburn Speedway with his father. There he grew an entrepreneurial passion for small business and admired his father because it always seemed that everywhere he went, Dad knew someone. With a passion for starting his own business one day, Matt graduated with a business degree from California State University Sacramento focusing his studies on Entrepreneurship. Directly out of college Matt began a career working at Budwesier as a sales rep. Quick to realize that climbing the corporate ladder was not for him, Matt decided to blaze his own path. That’s when him and his wife Candace, decided to sell everything they had, and with no savings, no job, decided to move to Hawaii. Thats truly when the path for entrepreneurship started to sink in, when he was hired for $12/hour and promised 30 hours a week, but with the promise of a path for growth and development, He knew 1-800-Got-Junk? would be a good fit. Quickly becoming an operations manager, and working directly with the owner, Matt sharpened his leadership skills and successfully launched his first moving business. Matt now at 35, has now successfully grown 2 businesses with revenues over $2.5 million, and is currently a franchise partner working on another 1-800-Got-Junk? The opportunity and personal growth is truly unbelievable when looking back just 8 years ago when all Matt and Candace had was a couple plane tickets and a desire to be successful. Now Matt enjoys snowboarding, traveling to baseball game throughout the country, and spending time with with Wife Candace, son Gavin, and their new puppy.

   Growing up Dillon began engaging in the work force at a very young age. His interest in work so early in life provided him with plenty of experience, preparing Dillon for this once in a life time opportunity at Southwind. Life in business started for Dillon at the age of 12, working at a local driving range as the grounds keeper. As a volunteer Dillon campaigned and was able to raise money to support 40 different youth programs in the Omaha, Metro area. 

      Dillon, an avid volunteer enjoys doing things that make him feel accomplished.  Dillon has volunteered at local food banks and has helped build houses for Habitat for Humanity. 

Dillon has always pushed himself to become the best he can at everything he does, which lead him to his career opportunity at 1-800-Got-Junk?. He started working with Southwind in 2016. His performance and ability to lead his team and business to success allowed him to achieve Operations Manager within 9 months. Dillon is now the General Manager of the Omaha/Lincoln 1-800-Got Junk franchise. The support he has received from Southwind has given him the opportunity to work toward part ownership of his location.  Dillon looks forward to finally achieving his lifelong dream of owning his own business.

Jamie has always had the desire to help people in need. Since early childhood, his lifelong dream was to become a firefighter. He wanted to have a career that made a difference in people’s lives. After attending school at Washburn University on a football scholarship Jamie moved back home to Kansas City And earned his EMT license. Jamie  was well on his way to becoming a Firefighter.

 As the waiting process to become a firefighter began Jamie heard about a good opportunity at Southwind (1-800-GOT-JUNK?) In Kansas City.

 After a short time on the job, Jamie fell in love with the company. Not only did he love the daily challenge, he especially loved helping the customers. During his time at Southwind he became a top performer, earning several accolades.  Southwind Leadership took notice and began discussions about the potential for him to run a company in Oklahoma City. He entered the Entrepreneurship program and in 2017 became a partner.

He is excited to take the knowledge he learned at Southwind and build a successful company in the Oklahoma City area. Jamie enjoys spending time with his wife Lauren, as well as, his parents who have lived in Oklahoma City since 2008.

Since the day Bryce was born, it was very apparent that he was built to lead.  With a “Never Back Down” mentality, there has never been a challenge or obstacle in which he was afraid to take head on.  With a “Family First” upbringing, he has always found that helping others achieve their goals is much more satisfying than personal success.  With the will to win and teach, Bryce managed to find a home on the football field.  As a two year team captain in high school, Bryce was awarded a full ride scholarship to play football at Washburn University.  He was a 1st team All MIAA & All region selection at Middle Linebacker.  He is currently 3rd in school history with 355 career tackles and 2nd in school history with 37 tackles for loss.  Bryce was a two year team captain at Washburn and voted Team MVP by his teammates for his junior and senior seasons.  Along with every other student athlete in the world, Bryce had to figure out what life after football looked like.  He had no idea that submitting his resume to Southwind would ultimately change his life forever.  From the second he entered the office doors, it was evident that he had found his calling.  two years and eight promotions later, Bryce is now a 1-800-GOT-JUNK? Franchise Partner in Salt Lake City, Utah.  When Bryce is out of the office, he enjoys spending time with his friends, family, and girlfriend Rachel.

 Aaron has always had a very competitive mindset. Having 5 siblings he has always gone the extra mile to stand out and find a way to win. A driven leader on his football, wrestling and track teams in high school, Aaron earned scholarship to wrestle in college where he earned a bachelors degree in Psychology.

After college, Aaron took a opportunity at Complete Nutrition where he was able to sharpen his leadership and customer service skills. In less than 18 months Aaron he was promoted to District Manager where he was able to help multiple stores to have record breaking years.

In August of 2016, Aaron sent his resume in to 1800gotjunk? In Kansas City (Southwind), after a very fun and exciting interview Aaron accepted a job that would change his life. Starting as a crew member Aaron used his leadership skills and hard work to stand out. After 4 months Aaron was presented with the opportunity to Partner with Southwind and purchase the Reno Metro franchise from an existing owner. Through establishing a competitive culture and developing a wining team, Reno Metro tripled their numbers in one year.  In February of 2018 Aaron’s Reno Metro business won Franchise of the year for the West Region, an award that has never been received by a 1st year business. 

In January 2019 Aaron received the opportunity to launch the Indianapolis 1-800-GOT-JUNK? location.

Fleet Manager

Marcus Newman is the Fleet Manager for all businesses under the Southwind name. As Fleet Manager, Marcus’ duties include purchasing and maintaining vehicles, registering and licensing vehicles and finding ways to cut cost and maximize profits. The best part of Marcus’ job is building relationships and interacting with employees and helping teach each business new ways to cut costs.

Marcus started working at just age fourteen and has worked in numerous fields including, the food industry, customer service, automotive, detailing, sales, and telecommunications before joining the Southwind team in November of 2019. No matter what Marcus did, he has always has a passion for helping people. Graduating High School from Olathe South High School and also attended Johnson County Community College Marcus married his beautiful wife Gabrielle in Spring of 2018 and they have three beautiful children who are his inspiration and motivation to work hard and be great. They currently reside in Gardner, KS.

In Marcus’s free-time he enjoys spending time with his family, taking care of their animals, playing sports, fishing, cooking, and gardening.

Rebecca spent a majority of her childhood in Wichita, KS. When she was eleven years
old, she moved up to the KC area with her dad and has lived here since. She graduated from
Mill Valley High School in 2011. She has completed some college coursework at Johnson
County Community College in the accounting field. Rebecca has almost eight years of
experience as an accounting clerk, specifically Accounts Payable.
Rebecca is married with one amazing son. Her family is her pride and joy. She enjoys being
outdoors (fishing, hiking, camping, etc), spending time with family and friends, music and
playing video games!

Before joining Southwind, Rebecca felt lost in which direction her career would take. She had
lost hope of finding her forever home with a company that believed in the value of their
employees. She was lucky enough to find the Southwind team at her lowest point. She was
ecstatic to join the team as she finally found a company that values, inspires and lifts up their
employees.

At Southwind, Rebecca helps provide support to the accounting manager and helps to maintain
the financial reports of the Southwind companies. She is excited to continue to grow her
knowledge pool and to be a part of this thriving company!

Dwayne has had over 29 years of process improvement and management experience working in 3 global Fortune 250 companies.  Over the course of his career roles have included Department Manager, Human Resources Manager, Safety Coordinator, Total Quality Manager, Plant Manager, Group Supply Chain Manager, Sr. Director of Operations and Business Owner as a licensed insurance professional.  He has received countless hours of training over the years from multiple universities focused on continuous improvement in the areas of Environmental, Health and Safety.

Dwayne has developed and implemented positive behavior based safety processes with a high level of engagement and has experienced award winning results in loss prevention and compliance.  With a high level of energy, his daily focus is to always protect workers, clients and the environment.  His holistic enterprise protection begins with a hands on approach to safety where he enjoys being out in the field where our work is done and interfacing with all departments and locations.

Away from work, Dwayne is an active volunteer in 4-H specializing in continuous youth education, developing leadership skills, civic responsibility and partnering with donors.  He also volunteers as an elected member of the Missouri University Extension Council to help bring programs and educational opportunities to residents of Jackson County, MO.

AnnaLissa grew up in Kansas City, Mo where she attended Notre Dame de Sion high school on state line. During high school she participated in plays, musicals and school choir as well as the school’s second honors choir Tri-M. During this time, she got to travel across the states to sing songs in over 5 different languages to people.
After graduation, AnnaLissa attended school at Pittsburg State University to study Strategic Communication. During her time at Pit she participated in the public relations and advertising student organization (PRAD) where she was treasurer and took charge on fund raisers and building the brand voice for their campus club and local business in Pittsburg, KS. She also was VP for Gorilla Head radio, a student lead radio station that taught the ropes of radio to broadcast students. She had her own radio station that focused on Pop culture, local campus artists, and hip hop & R&B music.
If that wasn’t enough, AnnaLissa also was a Reporter for the student newspaper where she ran her own beauty column that discussed hot topics of the beauty world and tips on mental and physical health. Along with her own column she would cover stories over world renowned musicians, governors, public speakers, comedians, or famous broadcasters like Soledad O’brien that would visit the school. She also covered Pitt State’s very first TED X event. All of this led her to Southwind where she can see herself growing for a long time!
In her free time, she likes working on personal finance and making bath bombs for her small business!
