Jonathan Price

Jonathan Price is the owner of 1-800-GOT-JUNK? Reno. Before he joined the 1-800-GOT-JUNK? family, he was building a career with one company in the broadcast radio industry. He spent eight years learning the ins and outs of several different departments, but specializing in sound/commercial/live sports production and engineering. The path for Jonathan in that company was not destined to continue, so he was faced with a choice to remain in the industry or venture out to expand my perspective as well as his repertoire. That crossroad is where he learned of 1-800-GOT-JUNK?.

Jonathans choice to get into the junk removal service industry primarily fell on wanting to have a different environment as much and as often as possible. Having spent so many years indoors, inside recording studios and with the same faces every day, he knew he wanted to mix it up. He applied for a Truck Team Member position with the Reno franchise, hoping that it would lead to him being outdoors during the day, would allow him to meet countless new people, and to keep up on his health by keeping him active. After one of the greatest interview experiences he’s ever had, they offered him an immediate position on the team and he started on the road to today.

Every day, Jonathan needs to achieve something. Whether it is shaking hands on a partnership with a local company or knocking out the day to day duties in record time or changing the way one of his teammates approaches their day for greater effectiveness, it is what drives him. In a word: growth. With the focus of our business being placed on its people, he is able to influence and guide those under his care to their own goals and potential which in turn helps the entire team grow and develop.

Outside of the business, Jonathan is a new father, so his passions have slightly changed paths. He previously would spend his time challenging himself to a new time trial on his bicycle or relaxing while working on his home aquarium experiments. Now, he prefers to spend his precious time with the family: his partner in crime, Jenn, and their son, Remi. They  still get involved in the same activities as they used to, but his lens is now showing his life through his eyes. Really, he feels like he is a full time double duty dad—a teacher and friend for his son at home, and a leader and guide for his team at work.

Since the day Bryce was born, it was very apparent that he was built to lead.  With a “Never Back Down” mentality, there has never been a challenge or obstacle in which he was afraid to take head on.  With a “Family First” upbringing, he has always found that helping others achieve their goals is much more satisfying than personal success.  With the will to win and teach, Bryce managed to find a home on the football field.  As a two year team captain in high school, Bryce was awarded a full ride scholarship to play football at Washburn University.  He was a 1st team All MIAA & All region selection at Middle Linebacker.  He is currently 3rd in school history with 355 career tackles and 2nd in school history with 37 tackles for loss.  Bryce was a two year team captain at Washburn and voted Team MVP by his teammates for his junior and senior seasons.

Along with every other student athlete in the world, Bryce had to figure out what life after football looked like.  He had no idea that submitting his resume to Southwind would ultimately change his life forever.  From the second he entered the office doors, it was evident that he had found his calling.  He helped lead the Kansas City 1-800-GOT-JUNK? Franchise to 3 Franchise of the year awards in 2015, 2016 & 2017. Two years and eight promotions later, Bryce is now a 1-800-GOT-JUNK? Franchise Partner in Salt Lake City, Utah.  He led SLC to their first ever Franchise Of The Year Award in 2019 in their first full year under his leadership. SLC finished as the #1 top performing franchise in 2019 & 2020. He has has had two of his employees (Kevin Martinez & Kian Bradley) win The 1-800-GOT-JUNK? “Top Trucker” award back to back years in 2019 & 2020. Salt Lake City was also awarded the “Customer Experience Award” for the entire 1-800-GOT-JUNK? system in 2020. Two of his operations managers have been shipped off to different locations to run their own franchises. Casey Brown is now the Franchise Partner in Naples Florida and Cooper Curran moved to Atlanta Southside to team up with his brother Casey Curran as the General Manager.

He was accepted into the Utah Entrepreneurship Organization Program in 2021 where he works side by side with some of the most successful entrepreneurs in the state of Utah. One day an old friend called Andre and expressed he was getting married in Hawaii and he had an opportunity to start working for 1800 Got Junk? After a few months Andre had packed his things and moved in with his old High School friend in the North Shore of Oahu. At the time the Franchise in Oahu had never broken $400k in a single year and the owner had told us it was more of an expensive hobby than it was a business. With the business at 1800 Got Junk quickly becoming more of a part of Andre’s everyday life they started finding some Success. In the First year they went from an annual revenue of $396,000 to over $600,000. The following years this snowballed into a $2 million business and was Simultaneously growing a Moving company to $1 million in overall revenue during its first 4 years as a startup. After spending 10 years learning everything about Hawaii and the Got Junk business Andre was looking for something new when he turned to an old high school friend once again. At the time Matt McKinney told Andre how great it was to work with the people at Southwind, and all the ways his life had changed for the better. Andre ended his time in Hawaii and moved to Kansas City in hopes of starting the next chapter of his life with a new team.

If you ever see Andre ask him what the best decision he ever made was and he will tell you joining Southwind Management!

Katie Nolen

Office Manager

Katie Nolen is a native of the Midwest, living in multiple states including New Mexico, Texas, Oklahoma, and Kansas but she currently calls Missouri home. In high school, she was a three-sport athlete playing track and cheerleading, but Katie excelled the most on the basketball court. After high school she attended college with a major in business administration but soon realized her passion was serving people and creating experiences.  Katie began her customer experience career in the food service industry which led to twenty-five years of experience. Fifteen of those years she held the General Manager role most recently at Red Door Grill in Overland Park, KS.

Looking for a way she could be more present with her family but still feed her passion for serving others and utilize her managerial background, Katie left the restaurant industry to pursue a new adventure. She joined Southwind in 2021 as the National Office Manager, assisting the CEO, Josh Herron, and the President/CFO, Tyler Staszak. Some of her roles include Travel Manager, office revitalization, event and conference planning, along with many others.

When not at Southwind, Katie enjoys spending as much time with her family as possible. She has been married to her husband Joshua Nolen since 2018. They have two sons and one daughter, Jaden, Savanna and Greyson. If Katie is not rooting for her kids in their various activities, you’ll be able to find her rooting on her favorite sports teams, most importantly, the Kansas City Chiefs!
